| A Message from the Eagle Scout |
As most of you know, my name is Andrew Vrana and I'm here as Troop 125's newest Eagle Scout. This
honor will be with me throughout my life, and it is one that I'm sure will never be replaced or
overshadowed by any other accomplishment. The principles of Boy Scouting have guided my life. Boy
Scouts shapes boys into young men who one day will be the future of our great country. I cannot
adequately sum up all my scouting experiences. It would be impossible to tell you about all the skills,
friendships, accomplishments, advancements, difficulties, and challenges I've had to face over the past
10 years. These have helped shape me into the individual I am today and I believe I am a better person
because of scouting. The rank of Eagle is a great achievement and one I will never think of lightly. The
attainment lives not on the patch that I will be presented with this evening, but in me. I will always
remember every person I've met along the way, every friend I've made, every adult who's guided me, and
every lesson learned when I think of the honor bestowed upon me tonight.
To all who have traveled with me in scouting, I thank you. To all of you who know me from somewhere
other than scouting, I thank you for sharing this honor with me. I will always treasure the memories of this
evening and the lessons I learned in scouting will always be a part of my life .

| Eagle Project Description |
My project consisted of constructing six cedar benches
and an arbor in addition to landscaping the trail and replacing all the mulch for the new Wildflower
Meadow at the SCOPE Outdoor Learning Laboratory at Sunken Meadow State Park. The project was the
first Eagle
project completed at this SCOPE location. It benefits the Learning Laboratory by providing a safe and
secure outdoor nature study area for children and other visitors. The grass and perennials that were
planted greatly improve the appearance of the site.The entire cost of the construction materials, $805.82,
was financed by the money raised during two carwashes. All the perennials nd grasses were donated.
Over 355 hours were needed to plan and complete this project.
LEADERSHIP PROJECT
I also completed a second project which involved refurbishing the Fellowship Hall at the Commack United
Methodist Church. All the walls and doors were bleached and repainted. The carpeting and molding on
the support columns was replaced. The cost of this project was $177.22 and the total time dedicated to its
completion was 184 hours. The total time dedicated to completing the two projects was 542.75 hours.
