EAGLE SCOUTS #73
A Message from the Eagle Scout
My Eagle Scout project was a very rewarding experience. I learned many life long skills
such as time management, dedication and leadership that could not have been learned
elsewhere. It was a very rewarding feeling to know that my actions were going to be
helpful to the community.
I would like to thank my Dad for his great deal of help, support, and time on the road to
eagle. He truly is one of the most dedicated scout leaders I have ever met.
I would also like to thank all of the scout leaders, fellow scouts, family and friends who
helped me with each stage of my project. I would like to say thank you to all of the people
who made donations for my Eagle Project. I would not have been able to do it without all of
you.
At this point in time I am currently enrolled at Suffolk County Community College. I am
working on a degree in criminal justice. I hope to one day enter a career in law
enforcement. I know that being an Eagle Scout can open the door to many great
opportunities, where I will be able to use my scouting skills throughout my life.
Once again I would like to say thank you to everyone here tonight. Each and every one of
you has played a role in making me the person I am. You have all supported me on the
road to becoming an Eagle Scout and for that I am very grateful.
Thank You,
Charies S. Zambito
Eagle Project Description
For my Eagle Scout Project I built two food serving tables and two garbage can enclosures at the Board
Of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) center at Caleb Smith State Park, in Smithtown, New York.
These tables were put next to a barbecue and will be used for preparing and serving food while cooking
on the barbecue. The garbage can holders will hold the garbage can in place, and help prevent park
pollution. My project will benefit the BOCES organization because they have many events with children
where they will have a barbecue. These tables will make it easier to prepare and serve food be¬cause
previously, tables were not available. The garbage can holders will provide a protected place to dispose
of garbage. This project will also benefit the taxpayers of New York State because these tables and
garbage can holders are objects that are in great need. If I were not to install them for my project, then
New York State would most likely install them at the taxpayer's expense. My project will be used
extensively by the BOCES center.
