A Message from the Eagle Scout
As I reflect on my Scouting experiences, from being a Tiger Cub in Pack 403 to being an Eagle Scout in
Troop 125, so many wonderful memories come to mind. What I remember most were the summer camps, the
historical hikes, the camporees, all the campouts and the merit badges that introduced me to so many
interesting things. The opportunities and experiences have been endless. The lessons that I have learned
will stay with me always. Scouting has provided me with skills from pioneering to boating, climbing to hiking
and physical fitness to personal management. Scouting has taught me to be a leader and a role model, not
only in scouting but in school as well. In September I will be attending Binghamton University. I look
forward to this new adventure and expect it will be both rewarding and challenging. I have learned that
with perseverance, endurance and hard work I can reach my goals. I hope to give back to Scouting,
because Scouting has given so much to me. Over the years I have made many friends and it is times like
today that I think of those that I have crossed paths with. Scouting is a family that I know that I can rely on. I
thank you all.
Thank You,
Kevin D. Hussey

MERIT BADGES
For my Eagle Project I planned and constructed seven outdoor cedar benches for the BOCES nature
center. The benches were built in a semicircle and provide an outdoor learning area for students and other
visitors. Naturalists can use the area to teach about nature and other environmental issues.
