A Message from the Eagle Scout
I have been in scouting since 1 st grade. During my time as a scout I have learned many things that most
people will never learn in their lifetime. Some examples are, how to be a leader, how to work together with
other people, and how to willingly give some of my time and money or even myself up for other people
who aren't as lucky as I am in life.
The main goal in my life right now, is simply to make it through high school, and then through college.
What I really want to do is to go to a college with a music program in order to become a music teacher. I
feel this would be the best job for me because of my love of music. I will carryall the lessons I've learned
in scout¬ing throughout my life. For all the younger scouts, I encourage you to continue with scouting and
I know that you can make Eagle if set your mind to it.
Thank You,
Steven Pena Hollwedel
Eagle Project Description
Little Animal Shelter Huntington, New York
For my Eagle Project I removed an old wooden picket fence and installed two 30 foot sections of PVC
fencing. I also installed two garden benches and did some landscaping. I decided to use the PVC picket
fence because it requires no maintenance for Little Shelter. I also chose perennials for the landscaping
for the same reason. I chose Little Shelter for my Eagle project because that is where we adopted our
Boo-Boo (our dog).
